Radiesse · Sculptra · Ellansé
Collagen biostimulators in Cali: your own collagen, rebuilt
They don't fill — they make your skin manufacture collagen again. The result is gradual, natural and lasts far longer than a filler.
In short: from age 25 you lose roughly 1% of your collagen a year. A filler corrects shape but not tissue quality. Biostimulators trigger a controlled response that makes your fibroblasts build new collagen — which is a different, and longer-lasting, kind of result.

What are collagen biostimulators?
They are injectable substances that do not fill: they trigger your own fibroblasts to produce new collagen. The material is absorbed; the collagen stays. That is what separates them from hyaluronic acid fillers, which add volume and then dissolve.
How much do they cost in Cali?
Radiesse costs COP 2,200,000 (approx. USD 550). Ellansé, two ampoules, COP 3,600,000 (approx. USD 900). Lanluma — the same active ingredient as Sculptra — COP 3,800,000 (approx. USD 950).
Which is better, Radiesse or Sculptra?
Neither: they solve different problems. Radiesse (calcium hydroxyapatite) gives immediate support as well as biostimulating, so it works when structure is missing and you want to see something on day one — which suits a short trip. Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) gives no immediate volume but builds collagen progressively over months and lasts longer.
If I'm travelling, which makes more sense?
This is a fair question and the answer is practical: Radiesse shows a visible result before you fly home, which most travelling patients prefer. Sculptra's result appears at month three or four, when you are already back — so you would be judging it remotely, without the option of an in-person review.
How long do they last?
Radiesse holds for 12 to 18 months. Sculptra and Ellansé can exceed 24 months. Because the collagen generated is your own, the improvement fades gradually rather than dropping off.
What are the risks?
Swelling and bruising for a few days are expected. The most discussed risk is nodule formation, uncommon and closely tied to technique. The important thing to understand is that biostimulators cannot be dissolved — there is no antidote equivalent to hyaluronidase. For a patient treating abroad, that is a meaningful consideration.
