Let's be direct about this

What this practice is — and what it isn't

This is not a plastic surgery centre. If you are looking for a BBL, liposculpture, a tummy tuck or breast surgery, this is not the right place and we will tell you so.

What Dr. Mesías does is facial aesthetic medicine: orofacial harmonization, non-surgical nose reshaping, collagen biostimulation, tensor threads, laser skin tightening and minor facial surgery performed under local anaesthetic — blepharoplasty, otoplasty, buccal fat removal.

The practical consequence for you: no general anaesthetic, no hospital stay and no two-week recovery. Most treatments fit inside a short trip.

Why the recovery matters more than the price

Most people comparing destinations look at cost first. That is understandable, but for a trip it is the wrong first question. The right one is: how many days of your life does this procedure take?

Major plastic surgery abroad typically means 10 to 21 days in country — post-operative checks, drain removal, and a flight you cannot take too early. That is a serious commitment of time and risk.

Facial aesthetic medicine works differently. A harmonization session takes two to three hours, produces mild swelling for a few days and needs one follow-up. You can arrive on a Monday and fly home on Friday having had a full facial assessment, the treatment itself and a review.

What we will not promise you

  • That every case can be solved without surgery. When there is genuine excess skin, no thread, laser or filler removes it. We will say so.
  • That results are guaranteed. They vary with anatomy, age, skin quality and metabolism. Anyone promising a fixed outcome is selling, not treating.
  • That cheaper is the same. In injectables you are paying for the judgement of the person holding the syringe and for their ability to manage a complication. That is where the difference lies.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to have aesthetic treatments in Colombia?

It is, provided you choose correctly. Colombia has a strong medical tradition and internationally trained practitioners, but the market is also unregulated at the margins. The three things to verify anywhere — including here — are: who performs the procedure (a licensed physician, not an assistant), what product is used (registered with INVIMA, the Colombian health authority, with traceable packaging) and whether the clinic keeps hyaluronidase on site, the antidote for a vascular occlusion. Dr. Mesías is a licensed physician and surgeon, holds a Master's in Orofacial Harmonization and is a member of SIRF.

How many days do I need in Cali?

For non-surgical facial treatments, 3 to 5 days is usually enough: consultation on day one, procedure on day two, and a follow-up before you fly. That is the core advantage of facial aesthetic medicine over major surgery — there is no long recovery to plan a trip around.

Do you speak English?

Consultations are conducted in Spanish, and the practice regularly attends international patients. Written communication by WhatsApp and email is handled in English. If you would prefer an interpreter present during your consultation, tell us in advance and we will arrange it.

What does a consultation cost?

The consultation is 100,000 Colombian pesos — roughly USD 25 at indicative rates — and it is fully credited towards any treatment you decide to have. It lasts 60 private minutes and includes a full facial assessment and a written plan with exact pricing.

Can I book everything before I travel?

Yes, and we recommend it. Message us on WhatsApp with your travel dates and what you are considering. We will confirm availability and, where useful, do a preliminary video assessment so that your in-person time is spent efficiently.

Why Cali and not Medellín or Bogotá?

Medellín and Bogotá are known for major plastic surgery — body contouring, BBL, breast work. That is a different specialty. If what you want is facial work that is minimally invasive, precise and doesn't require weeks of recovery, the criteria change: what matters is the practitioner's facial anatomy training, not the size of the surgical facility.
